Common Landscape Issues to Address in Spring

Spring is right around the corner, and our team is looking forward to more sunny days. With the change of seasons comes a lot of maintenance. With spring cleaning inside the house, you may be overwhelmed with the workload outside and not know where to start. These are the common lawn and yard issues that need to be addressed as we approach warmer weather.

Rid your beds of spent perennials and pull up only annuals

March is a good time to take inventory of your beds. If they are too crowded they may need to be transplanted to other beds to make some room for proper growth. This is also the time to decide on any new annual or perennial plants you’d like to have installed.

Evaluate the state of your landscape beds, mulch, stone, and landscape fabric

If your beds are overcome with weeds then it may be time to have a better foundation for your landscape beds. A Spring cleanup of the weeds and a refresh of the landscape fabric, and mulch or stone in the beds can help to combat weeds going forward.

Trim/Prune all existing landscaping

Keeping all grasses, trees, and shrubs pruned and trimmed is important to their overall health going into the warmer weather.

Reestablishing clear borders between plants and ridding of debris

Rid of dead foliage and leaves between plants to reestablish the borders between different plants. Over time, when weeds take over, all plants can look like they are growing together and there isn’t any order to the beds. Ensuring you have durable landscape edging around the beds is crucial as well to make sure they don’t become unruly.

On top of these services, it is important that your lawn is staying fertilized and of optimal health. If your lawn looks like it is missing something, we recommend giving our office a call so we can walk you through how to best take care of your lawn and the recommendations we have going into the Spring season.

All of the above services and more are included when you have our team conduct a Spring Cleanup on your property.

This can be catered to your individual needs to ensure your outdoor space looks its best going into the new season.
